Equilibrium States of LYAM SystemDepartment of Electrical Engineering Southern Illinois University at Carbondale Carbondale, IL 62901-6603
Department of Electrical Engineering Southern Illinois University at Carbondale Carbondale, IL 62901-6603 In this paper, a study of the Lyapunov Associative Memory (LYAM) is given. This system is constructed by a set of ordinary differential equations, and its stable equilibrium states store pattern cluster information. The study shows that the single-class system is always globally stable; the many-class system has many unstable activation states and at least one stable category state representing the learned information. A rigorous stability study of the many-class system is difficult, and it remains to be investigated.
